What is feminism? Why should men care about it? This discussion group seeks to explore these questions while also providing a space in which male-identified folks can support each other in making feminist interventions in their own lives. No background knowledge is required. Topics for discussion include socialization, gender roles, patriarchy, male privilege, domestic violence, sexual assault, intersectionality, how to be an ally, etc. The specific syllabus is decided by the group members themselves. While this group aims to provide a space for men to talk openly about feminist issues, all are welcome to join in the conversation.
Upcoming meetings are at Fair Grinds Coffee House (3133 Ponce de Leon) at 7pm on July 5th and July 19th. Article, topic, or film suggestions are always welcome.
